Derelict children... Jury Duty... What has the world come to. What happened to hanginf them up by their toenails for a few days in the lower dungeons until their behavior improves? Gosh I miss the old days...

As much as it bugs you getting asked if you are now the bishops wife, its obnoxious when people ask me when I go home. Its with the best of intentions, but I kinda wanna give them a sign that says "12 days.
leave me alone" the days are also set like an old school calendar where the days are changed one by one. Its driving me bonkers, because I have to think about that date,and tell them, and unfortuantely I end up looking ticked when I do it. I dont want to think about going home because I dont know whats waiting for me aside from my family. Most guys can say, oh well Im gonna go to work, Im going to school, I am getting married, and I get to say... I honestly dont know.
Well yeah. Oh course stake temple day is this thursday. bummer, cuz those are intense days, thats how people do things when they have to travel to the temple long distance, its packed with people and all the sessions get full. If you can try and stay all day. I know you have to work, but its also to all the other people who read this.
This week was good, a lot better, and well I will see how this week goes. Its gonna be interesting next pday mad dash to the finish.

Yeah you could say that. Its been a very busy week. Here in MissionLand we have been working really hard. Like come home and pass out we work so hard. We are working really hard, and not exactly seeing the results. Its kinda rough. but hey I am gonna keep on going until the end, even if its difficult when I am not seeing what I want to see. I just have to trust in the Lord, and work with Faith.
This week aside from being very busy, has been very interesting. Lots of trials, cool people we have met, and helped, but we still manage to keep going back to the same old people that I have known forever. I dont entirely know why, we havent had the inspiration to stop seeing these people, because they arent doing alot in the way of progressing towards baptism. I am re-realizing something that I already knew. That its of course our objective to baptize people, but its not the only things we do. We help peoples faith grow to the point that they
exercise their faith, and they repent of their sins, and they change and want to be baptized. I mean maybe its my excuse because I am not going to baptize before I am home, but its what I am seeing. Remember Remember the 5th of November...
Hahaha its Guy Fawkes Day (UK) that Saturday.
So I got my flight plans.,.......................
But really this week was really good. We worked super hard. I think I will start out telling you a bit about Gabriel. Hes a really cool guy, hes maybe 27, is from Buenos Aires, and recently moved here to Rio
Cuarto about a month ago. well we found him last week and taught him about the Book of Mormon. He said that he needed to find out if its true because "if its true and I reject something that says"Jesus Christ" I dont want to get the bill on the other side that says "You rejected the word of God, Have a nice Day" So he is reading to know if its true. Hes very down to earth, and has had alot of serious issues with other organized religions, finding them to be a man made creation rather quickly. So hes a bit skeptical. I will keep you updated on him.
Umm we also are teaching Elisa and Ester. They are daughter and mother. Neither can read, but that hasnt stopped them from getting their other family members to read to them. When we got to that house, the whole family was in chaos. They were all fighting with Elisa, due to her mental scars from her ex, who beat her, and she would take it out on her son. =/ but anyway the family was really un united, and we were able to teach them prayer, and why its important. Ester also didnt really want much to do with the church, because she is catholic. Ok so Elisa, we lost track of her, but she wanted to be baptized. So we kept going by every once in awhile to see them, but no good. Elisa kept on praying. She prayed every night, then her mom started to pray
with her, and on her own, and her little sister would read her the Book of Mormon, and she got a restraining order on her ex, and she just became instantly peaceful, and calm. She got a job, that was far away, but found a job really close, like right across the street. one day we went by and she told us about her older sister, who is not nice to them. So when we left she offered the prayer and asked the Lord to soften her heart and help her family to be united. So the Lord did that. Elisa has incredible faith. Her family is united, they are making changes and its really cool to think, wow it all started with a simple prayer. Thats what prayer and faith can do for you. If you want it, and you do everything you can, and ask the Lord to give it to you, He will give it to you, I testify of that.

For those that thought," wow thats a ton to do" Well it was alot of studying I did! This conference was quite good. I was very surprised by the variety of subjects covered. Highlights were:

I know that we have living prophets that walk this earth. I know that God is Our Heavenly Father, and He loves us so much that He sent His Son Jesus Christ to atone for our sins, and He also sent prophets to guide us to the path that Jesus marked for us, and give us His sustaining word to guide us and keep us on the path.

Today I also got the package with the Birthday wishes. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Tell all the Primary Kids how much I appreciated it. I feel pretty good here, I just want to keep working my best until this is done. This week, we had a lot of success, in achieving unity in our lessons, teaching with the Spirit, and following the Spirit in all that we do. I felt really good this week, the mission is great. Today we had a meeting with President Salas, and well I still have to go back for my interview.... but anyway, its been a crazy day, and I didnt bring my journal to count the experiences of the week. Its funny how you will go and be thinking about what you did in the week, but when it comes down to it, you cant remember what you were going to write. =(
Ok so I owe you one thats a little better next week, I love you all

General Conference -- October 2011
This has been a wonderfully uplifting conference.
Please listen to this talk by Elder Dallin H Oaks of the Quorum of the 12 Apostles entitled "Teachings of Jesus."
Christ is my Savior. He suffered for every one of us -- for our sins and our shortcomings, for our disappointments, heartaches, and physical ailments. By Him, we (the weak things of the world) are made strong. I know that if we live by His example, humble ourselves before the Lord, and rely on the Atonement of Jesus Christ, we can return to live with our Father in Heaven in eternal happiness and exaltation.

So this week was really interesting. A little insight into what I was talking about last week-- I was reading an article from Elder Richard G Scott, from the conference of October of 2009. Its about receiving spiritual guidance. So I had that experience, and even quite similar to Elder Scott's experience, I didnt want to tell the details of what I received, but the manner is in the talk. I have been studying in that particular Ensign this week. The words of the Prophets are true. I recommend the following talks. Read them and highlight the things that stand out to you.
President Dieter F Uchtdorf -- The Love of God
Elder Robert D Hales -- Seeking to know God, Our Heavenly Father, and His Son, Jesus Christ
Elder Tad R Callister -- Joseph Smith: The Prophet of the Restoration
Elder Kent D Watson -- Being Temperate in All Things
Elder Neil L Andersen -- "Repent...That I may Heal you"
These talks somehow all had a similar theme to me, the guidance and revelation that can be recieved from the Holy Ghost, and what we will do and know upon receiving that guidance.
I also want to share a scripture from Doctrine and Covenants 98
1) Verily I say unto you my friends, fear not, let your hearts be comforted; yea, rejoice evermore, and in everything give thanks;
2) Waiting patiently on the Lord, for your prayers have entered into the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth, and are recorded with this seal and testament—the Lord hath sworn and decreed that they shall be granted.
3) Therefore, he giveth this promise unto you, with an immutable covenant that they shall be fulfilled; and all things wherewith you have been afflicted shall work together for your good, and to my name’s glory, saith the Lord.
Ok so lets begin telling about my week. =)

So this week as mentioned before we were expecting a baptism. Well everything said it wasnt going to happen, there was oppoistion on all sides, and in the end..... it didnt happen. We worked extremely hard
for the baptism, but it didnt end up happening. My faith was in it. but well it was his decision. He is the son of a recent convert, and best of all he knows that the church is true. He just wants to be able to pick his date. We were pretty much devasted. But we have to pick up and move forward. I work in this because I know that God is My Heavenly Father, and that He restored this church, and I am working in this for Him. and as President Eyring said:

spiritual impressions are so precious that we cannot afford to not write them down, because they will stop coming if we do not write them down, in fact we will receive more guidance if we will sit, listen and
WRITE what we hear in our hearts and minds. I am so thankful that God has called prophets in these days to Guide US and restore all the truths that we need to return to His presence, especially the temples.
Because of my release date, I want to do something. I am technically not released until the 8th, and so I want to go for two days of temple work upon my return. Thats my real request. I wont stop working just
because I get home, even though there are many things to do, I want to first go and visit My Father's House. Monday and Tuesday the 7th and 8th: LA temple.

[Ben's first email from this week]
Hey mom
This week was well, full of just incredible spiritual experiences. I mean really spiritual, not sharable. I'm sorry to leave you all in the dark on this one, but this week I had some cool moments discovering myself, and the weaknesses and strengths that I have in my testimony and strengthening myself. This I will say, I know that this is the true church and that the authority of God has been restored. I know that Our Heavenly Father knows us and loves us, He has blessed my family for the service I am rendering, even if we dont realize it. I want to make sure that you all remember that. We have been blessed, even though I didnt realize it. I mean I know that we have been blessed, but its a little bit different when you realize other blessings that the Lord has given you that you havent seen before. On other notes, we have been working super hard and finding and working to get people to come to church and be baptized. This week we had planned a baptism, but we moved it to this weekend. Hes the son of a recent convert, named Ian. He is super confused because of the rapid change of his father, and the catholic school that he goes to. And
looking at his situation I just am reminded to much about Joseph Smith. He is just as confused as Joseph was before he asked the Lord in prayer. I am thoroughly convinced that if this boy will pray and ask with a sincere heart, he will know what he must do. He is prepared, but just needs to recognize his answer. I know that God answers prayers and that He will answer this boy. If he will recognize that answer, through the power of the Holy Ghost, he will be getting baptized this Saturday. Wish us luck. Thats been about whats up here.
Oh please all of you read President Uchtdorf's message for the September Ensign/Liahona, and do what he suggests. We are trying to emphasize the attendance to the General Conference this upcoming month. It will truly be an experience, I know that something grand will be announced in this conference. The Lord has
something prepared, thats why he has asked and emphasized that we attend, and listen carefully to remember and apply the principles of the conference.
Get ready now and hold on to your seat.

Hey Mom
This week was really good, we had a zone conference with Elder Bradley D Foster, who apparently served as the Mission President of the Arcadia mission before the Ventura mission existed-- he had Thousand Oaks in his mission. He was remembering a few things. Pretty cool. Aside from that he explained to us basically where we all fall through as missionaries. He says we are great, but we are not working with the members enough. If we start helping and getting help from the members things will change dramatically to the point of baptizing 200 a month, and at some point the missionaries will just teach discussions to the members' friends (kind of what we do in the states supposedly) and the missionaries will baptize them, but the members will do all of the finding and fellow shipping alone. At that point we could baptize 500 a month. and with 14 missions in South America South that would be....7000 baptisms a month. Now imagining that as a goal. and the impact that would have worldwide. Its impressive how much work we could be doing if we did things according to the Lord´s plan. But that's just
silly numbers and things like that. The really cool part was when he brought out this presentation that talks about and interesting statistic: Only 50% of active church members are sure that our Heavenly Father answers our prayers, or that He knows them personally
by name. ACTIVE MEMBERS! Did you know (and this is for everyone) that God is your loving Heavenly Father? That He knows you by name, where you live, what you do, and knows the true desires of your heart? He knows you better than you know yourself, He is your Creator, and He has made you in His image, with your strengths and your weaknesses. Don't believe me? Ask Him. He is there with His arms open to you and wants to hear from you. In other words it doesn't matter what you have done, where you are from, what color skin you have, what your political party is, what religion you are from, or what you are struggling with, your Heavenly Father loves YOU! I know this. With all of my heart and soul I know this. I felt a very personal confirmation of this fact as I sat there listening to this presentation. I love my Father in Heaven, and I want to please Him. For you who are still learning and growing in your testimonies, or if you are passing through some doubts I encourage you, to kneel down in prayer or meditate on this subject, read the scriptures and when the Lord speaks put your name in the lines. He will reveal himself to you through your thoughts and feelings, and you will know that He is your Father.
Gotta go for now. Thanks for the update, Miracles would be well... In what way have we been blessed as a family, by the mission I am serving? What about the people you share the gospel with. Help the kids realize that its not just the guys in white shirts and ties that do this, but that it is them inviting their friends and families to church that really blesses everyone.

by name. ACTIVE MEMBERS! Did you know (and this is for everyone) that God is your loving Heavenly Father? That He knows you by name, where you live, what you do, and knows the true desires of your heart? He knows you better than you know yourself, He is your Creator, and He has made you in His image, with your strengths and your weaknesses. Don't believe me? Ask Him. He is there with His arms open to you and wants to hear from you. In other words it doesn't matter what you have done, where you are from, what color skin you have, what your political party is, what religion you are from, or what you are struggling with, your Heavenly Father loves YOU! I know this. With all of my heart and soul I know this. I felt a very personal confirmation of this fact as I sat there listening to this presentation. I love my Father in Heaven, and I want to please Him. For you who are still learning and growing in your testimonies, or if you are passing through some doubts I encourage you, to kneel down in prayer or meditate on this subject, read the scriptures and when the Lord speaks put your name in the lines. He will reveal himself to you through your thoughts and feelings, and you will know that He is your Father.
Gotta go for now. Thanks for the update, Miracles would be well... In what way have we been blessed as a family, by the mission I am serving? What about the people you share the gospel with. Help the kids realize that its not just the guys in white shirts and ties that do this, but that it is them inviting their friends and families to church that really blesses everyone.

Yeah Labor day!
Things are good here in the field. (Out here in the field!...thank you Teenage Wasteland) Working a ton, trying to keep up with this kid, who has unlimited energy, and me with the tank heading to Empty. This week we did a lot of new studying and tried a lot of new techniques to help our investigators to progress. We have had a long stretch of women who are recently separated because their husbands have abused them. It brought my reading in Ether and Moroni to life, because as Moroni described the perversity of the people I was drawn back to the experiences that these people tell us that they have passed through. The good thing is that there is a solution. His name is Jesus Christ, and He has provided the way that all of us can be healed; physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. I know that He suffered for us to be able to find relief and peace in this life and the next. He is Our Savior. I finished the Book of Mormon this week, and read from Ether 12 to Moroni 10 They are always talking about Faith, Hope, Charity, Patience, Humility, and Love. There is no substitute in days like ours that are similar in wickedness to those of old than to move forward seeking these gifts of the Spirit, and attributes of our Savior. If we want to change the world we have to start with us. That's what missionary work is: Carrying our light into the darkness and shining it forth. I love this work and I dont want to ever part from it. This is only the beginning of my mission. Two years dedicated to learning how to be a missionary, and finally near the end I am figuring things out, and I can see the impact and power of this work on people.
Gotta go keep moving forward, and putting my shoulder to the wheel and all that jazz. I love you all and wish you the best, Read your Scriptures, they will afford you strength and protection, Pray to know the truth of all things and put your life more in line with the Gospel, and seek after the good gifts that the Lord wants to give you, Attend your church meetings, and search the answer to your questions and share your experiences with others, they probably needed to hear something you have had happen to you. Magnify your calling, by not just completing but over achieving the minimum. Go the extra mile, and help someone in need. you will be rewarded for every sacrifice you make with an even bigger blessing.

Hi mommy! guess what. I´m 21!
had a good week, worked real hard. Dont know if you will be able to write me in time but I dont have much to report, just that we worked REALLY REALLY HARD this week. We had a complete opposite of last week. but we also tried to baptize suddenly a few investigators. Its didnt work out so well. but we tried. This week we gotta keep working and even harder. Its all that I have left. Work work work its the secret to happiness.
Im stoked for this week, and we will see what kind of surprises it presents me. we can never know

Well this week was a mess!

Thats what the elders left us when they left. =P
So we cleaned and I got to try and make the day work, the next day but we were still cleaning. I went and did splits with a member on tuesday, and ended up getting stranded in Ward Council until 11, when my bus left at 4:45 the next morning. UGH so I got my stuff ready and tried to sleep, but well, I barely closed my eyes and the alarm went off. So I went on a really gross and hot bus and made it to the trainer meeting where Pres. got us all pumped up to train, and assigned us. We ended up sitting next to each other, and so did most of the trainers end up sitting next to or close to their kid. Pretty funny. Umm his name is Elder Schaap, hes from Albuquerque New Mexico, is the oldest of 5 brothers, his dad is the Institute teacher at the U of New Mexico, and he went to BYU, for 2 semesters, and may go play as a QB or RB or Safety after the mission. Hes real sharp and full of love for the people. He just has a little problem understanding the accent here. Other than that his spanish is pretty good. Hes full of fire, and today we are getting out to work earlier, so we can have more sucess. I am super pumped for this next week. The new training program is pretty interesting. Ok love you. gotta be getting to work

Beginning on the money question.
Ok last week I got an email from my Paypal (Paypal is used for Ebay and safe online purchases, and some of my email gets forwarded from my old email) Well it had an account balance for $62.72 So I checked it out and I moved it back to my checking account. Well good thing I did. I had a bit of personal funds floating around and so I took my suit to get dry cleaned... It needed it, but well if you remember about my shoes breaking. Well I was using those and those came completely unglued...Again. I changed to my other pair of shoes and they as well came undone or started to. Glue doesnt work, and the piece of rubber used to sew them had fallen off too. I asked some members and they told me to go get them fixed at a place, but I was gonna need a pair in decent shape. So I was left with but one option. I had to get shoes. No choice, and I got ones that will last, unfortunately It ran me 380 pesos or 95 dollars. =( I have a nice pair of shoes that will last me here and back home, it also appears that I have one leg just a little bit longer than the other and one foot bigger as well. the blister isnt bad. way bummed, cuz it was a big hit to the money that I dont have, but luckily I have been doing pretty good with my money and have been able to actually get my allowance on time, cuz I got my new credit card. and the mission owed me a little bit and i had that. So aside from all of that mess. thats my accounting of the subject. So I took alittle bit of money out because well yeah I had nothing left and had to get the dry cleaning, and because I have to go to Cordoba.
I am going to Cordoba on wednesday ish to go get my new comp. Thats right I am going to TRAIN! Training is a 2 transfer or 3 month process. So I will train and be replaced by a brand new elder.
I would love to get pictures, and I am not trunky just very aware of how much time I have left to serve. The good news is that everything is certain and I dont have to worry about mission things. What I would like is that you just hold on to that money for me so I can buy clothes or do stuff when I get home. I would like if you could put in a little bit so that I can have it there in case something like this happens again.
We need to be talking about the whole "I am coming home" thing. I am gonna be getting "the call" this week, so I am going to tell them that the airport is Burbank or Bob Hope International Airport. Unless you would prefer a different one...
I dont have a real checklist like that anymore. I have a list of things that come to my mind that distract me and I just right them down in my agenda then move them off to the list at the end of the transfer. It helps a lot to just put away those thoughts and save them for later, because they are not bad thoughts but not missionary thoughts. I love his [Lynn G Robbins] talk because it really separates the boys from the men. Lots of missionaries come on the mission thinking its gonna be a gas, a laugh and a fun time, but to come on the mission without goals is bad. Many think that to put a goal it means a number. How many baptisms are you gonna have? Wrong. How much are you willing to leave behind your boyish tendencies and the natural man and become a Man of God like our Savior Jesus Christ. Many missionaries check off their investigators as done when they are baptized. Thats not ok, they rely on us so much, its our job to hand them off to the ward and get the ward involved.
Yeah lifes good here in the mission. This week we were teaching the Retamozo family. they are way cool I think I told you about them last week. We were talking to them about the restoration and they are eating it all up. They seem like they are ready to be baptized. Gonna challenge them this week with my new comp. Other than that this week I helped Elder Vera pack his bags to go home. It kind of really hit home that it was coming up for me too this week. We'll see. Lots of work to do before than. but not alot of time.
Well I gotta be getting out of here. I love you all and I know that this Church is the only true and living church on the Earth today, and that we are led by a Prophet of God. I know that Jesus Christ is our one perfect example of how to live, and my life is dedicated to changing me and my weaknesses to align myself more with Him, and BE like Him. He is my Savior and I serve Him with all my might.

Well this week was interesting.
We worked a lot, and we went to a "new" area. Its called Holmberg/Santa Catalina. We went to the absolute southernmost point of the mission. There is nothing more below it. We saw the horizon... hahaha. Its a new area because the missionaries before us havent been in over 6 years... So you can imagine that its a bit difficult to get a lot of member references. There are a few families that live there, and only 2 people who are semi active still. So we went to find all the inactives. Well we didnt really get to talk to alot of people because of certain previous incidents in the area. The last time the church started to grow there in Holmberg, the local Catholic Priest started a campaign against us, and got almost all the members to reject us. almost all, but those that didnt reject got isolated from their friends and in some cases their families. So its kind of a rough environment.
Its a small town that has maybe 16 blocks by 16 blocks divided by a 2 lane freeway. So you have to cross the road. and we went to cross it and my comp accidentally gives me a flat tire. No big deal you would think, but my shoes have glue to keep the soles on. So the flat tire became a total blowout. Wooh in the middle of the freeway! So we walked into the first shop we could find, a pharmacy, and we asked the guy if he could help us. So he goes and gets shoe glue for me and helps us out. Crazy, way nice. People are nice in small towns hahaha. Well we got my show glued and hit up a few more contacts, and headed home to the Ward Actvity. Well we were just gonna take a bus, but another random stranger comes along and offers us help. Apparently the bus wasnt running. So the dude says "hey you going to Rio Cuarto? get in." Kinda freaky you know. but my comp just walks up and gets in so I ran after him and we got in the car. We got on the road and he tells us about his life and how he is heading to a charity show where he is going to play the accordion for the benefit of geriatrics. So he leaves us on the side of the road in Rio Cuarto and heads to the hospital, while we walked to our activity. Thats about all that I have to say on the subject of hitchhiking. Check that one off the list.
Umm but other than that we have a new family that we are teaching. The Retamozo family of Ana (40) Alexis (18) and Abril (16) They came to church this sunday and barely made it for sacrament meeting, It was fast and testimony meeting, and was very good, all things considered that F&T is probably a missionaries worst nightmare for his investigators. Anyway they barely got there and loved it, and said they were definitely going to come early next week.
On other news, Elder Vera goes home this week. Saturday will be transfers, and I will find out whats gonna happen for my last 3 months. Its been a fun transfer, trying to not get as trunky as my comp. Well gotta get out of here, we are having an asado with the zone apparently (in other words they invited themselves over to our apartment........) so we have to go get things ready.

Yeah it was not exactly busy, its just not much to talk about other than the baptism. It doesn't seem to matter what ya do, there is always something that manages to go wrong. Its all in the attitude of how ya handle it. Murphy says that even if you have everything in place, everything can go wrong. this week we were busy getting the interview for the baptism, the baptismal invitations, the clothes, who was going to baptize, making sure that the bishopric could show up, making sure the baptized persons show up, just making sure of everything. The bishopric member who was going to come, has a double hernia, and it got really cold on Saturday... in fact it snowed. THAT RIGHT IT SNOWED!!!!! It didn't stick, but well you can imagine all the Argentines FREAKIN out, we had almost no one at the baptism, but the last 7 recent converts were there. They are actually all pretty tight despite their various age differences and everything, its surprising how the recently changed of heart feel that companionship for each other. As an overall experience, it was quite well done. While we were waiting for everyone to get there, we just sat and watched the Doctrine and Covenants resource DVDs and they are awesome. So in one room all the people who attended the baptism watching movies and being spiritually uplifted together, while the elders run around the church wondering what happened to all the people they invited. Every once in awhile we would go check on them, and they had put on another video, and it was just peaceful in there. It was like this little bubble of spiritual paradise. at one point i realized that Edgar wasn't in there, so i went to look for him, he was in the bathroom, just holding on to the sink, and tapping his foot, all nervous. So I asked him if he was nervous, and he just kind of grunted "yup". Well why don't we go in to the room where everyone is watching videos its nice and warm. you ll be fine, Elder Vera wont drown you "yeah ill be fine, I'm not worried about elder vera,besides its all your fault, you knocked my door, and it seems like so little time, but I am so happy about this. Thanks."
This was from Edgar who probably has said a total of 100 words to us since we met him 8 weeks ago. Hes pretty quiet, but as we have gotten to know him and explained the gospel his heart and his mouth have opened and he is so much happier. He literally said that he felt like he had been reborn. Its great to see a new family ready to strive forward in the church.
Yesterday the bishop pulled me out of Elders quorum to give my testimony of the mission to the young men. A little off guard, I realized how much I have learned here in the mission, and well its almost unfathomable what one can learn when being constantly instructed by the Spirit. I love knowing that the Lord has me in mind every time that I am teaching someone else and I can capture a truth or say something that I didn't think I knew but that I really did know. That's how my testimony has grown here. Line upon line, precept upon precept. I know that this church is true and that through the restoration all things pertaining to our salvation have been revealed and that we will continue to be guided by the Lord and His Prophet until He comes and personally reigns and guides us through the last moments of our mortal lives, and brings us through His sacrifice to Exaltation. I am eternally grateful to Him for the Atonement. Without it life would have no reason, because there would be no escape from all the errors that we commit.

Thats one of those its about time things. Pop has always been dedicated to scouting. He is a scouter. What did they call that award? How is pop doing? How is his memoir going?
Aly is now 16. So i bugged her last week, and she promised me there would be no kissing boys. I hope that was the case. =P she wrote me today and gave me a nahnahnahnah Im available and you arent here to do anythign about it. PBBBPPBPBPBPPB
Yeah other than that things are good here in the mission. I just feel good. =)

We have another baptism this week! -- Its a couple from San Luis. They are way super cool, and are ready.
[July 20th was the 42-year anniversary of Neil Armstrong walking on the Moon AND Ben's maternal grandparents' baptism into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints] Its been 42 years? Thats along time. How are Grandmom and Pop doing?
[July 24th was Pioneer Day, a holiday celebrated in Utah, commemorating the entry of Brigham Young and the first group of Mormon pioneers into the Salt Lake Valley in 1847] There was a cool article in the Liahona/Ensign about Latin American pioneers. So I guess we could share that with Teresa. haha
Well this week wasnt all that exciting, we found some cool new people and we are getting ready for the baptism on saturday. This time it looks like things are all in order... but theres always something. Hope the hot water works, it take 4 hours to fill our font here.

Good for Josh! Buenos Aires Oeste, tell him to drink as much maté as he can before hand. Its not allowed in the mission anymore and hasnt been for some 15 years or more. ugh
Yeah I dont know about BA but here I surprisingly get called on to direct alot.
Visual aids are the best, and must be used on a regular basis, especially where the High Priests group is involved.
Figures that you say that, because Aly said you would be going nuts, with Dad singing constantly random songs, and wanting to go on patrol all the time. But yeah, that about what she has said, that and she is kinda tired. *rolls eyes* =P
Good to hear that you are working. and why wont they give you forklift privileges, you know that it makes the beeping noise when it goes backwards, what more do you need. =P
Yeah I kinda hoped to hear from her. Its a small small world mom, anyone could come along, even someone who isnt qualified and take it from her. She has a lot of job experience so who knows.
So this week, yes Teresa was baptized. She is probably one of the most opposed baptisms I have ever had. Like not in opposed by some authority, because the ward here has wondered if she was already a member now for about 2 weeks, but seriously opposition. We were waiting to get done with family visits, and hoping that the chapel´s hot water system would get fixed, so she was gonna get baptized saturday with a month and a half knowing the missionaries. Then the family left things looked good to go ahead. And firday night at about 9 the bishop calls us and says, oh the hot water isnt ready, I have already moved it to the stake center, have fun telling everyone about it. So we made sure that the people who were giving talks would come, and that the baptizers were coming and the other family that baptized their 8 year old as well. So it looked like everything was going to work out but with low attendance. No big deal. Well we planned for 8 o clock and we got there at 7:45 because we could not find a single taxi, since Argentina was playing in the America Cup (Soccer). Then we got there and no one was there, we looked at the font and it wasnt anywhere close to being full, and we had to then run around filling it up, and cleaning it out because it was full of gook and dead leaves. then we had to wait for the family who was going to baptize their daughter to get there because they got confused about which chapel it was in, and had to wait for a member of the bishopric to come, and we ran around like crazy people because the chapel was dirty as well. Oh and there was no key to the big doors so that people could see the baptism which was not locked but had no handle so you had to have a key to open the door. So I had to take a knife and pull open the door latch, resulting in me cutting my finger. So we had fun, and the baptism started. Then we go to do the baptism, and the bathroom is flooded because some kid snuck in to the bathroom and turned on the sink before we started. So it filled up the womens bathroom and was coming out into the hall. So we got that under control and had the baptism. It went wonderfully Teresa´s daughter Yamila said that she wanted to get baptized as well because of how wonderful it looked. Then we smelled smoke. The water heater had been on and had melted the plastic cover for the pilot light viewer, and it smelled like burnt plastic all through the chapel. So we finished and headed home. It was best said by the Sister that teaches Gospel Principles. "She must be very special, because someone doesnt want her to get baptized" Other than that, we spent most of the week in the hospital cuz my comp wasnt feeling good and it turned out that he has asthma, so we had to do studies and go from clinic to hospital to clinic for a few days. So dumb. oh well. But yeah this week is looking like its gonna be full of work. I am so sure that there is opposition in all things to help us truly enjoy the great things in our lives and make them sweeter for us. For now I leave you with that thought and to read in 2 Nephi 2.

Figures that you say that, because Aly said you would be going nuts, with Dad singing constantly random songs, and wanting to go on patrol all the time. But yeah, that about what she has said, that and she is kinda tired. *rolls eyes* =P
Good to hear that you are working. and why wont they give you forklift privileges, you know that it makes the beeping noise when it goes backwards, what more do you need. =P
Yeah I kinda hoped to hear from her. Its a small small world mom, anyone could come along, even someone who isnt qualified and take it from her. She has a lot of job experience so who knows.

Yeah Reflections of Christ, is that the book of black and white photos that Sarah got for you? I think it was on Display at BYU-I when I was there. Way good. I like the opening introduction when he tells about how he came up with his idea.

It's: down, hit yourself, hit your friend, up. Really simple and no one really looks at you anyways. I always said it in Chilecito (thats right, I know how to direct too.. dont tell) and I would always call out the type of singing I expected based on the With Fervor and the timing. Its more fun, and people actually try. Who knows if its orthodox or not, but it worked. *shoulder shrug*

Yup Aly is a big girl now. Funny how we say it, but shes only 15. Shes one of the most mature 15 almost 16 year old I know.
I know that they are working really hard to help others and are being blessed for it. Just gotta keep praying that they can come home, because that will be from the peace and tranquility that we need at home. Grandma will have to be home for Christmas. She will make sure that the work gets done before that.

This week we got some good progress with our investigators, and I got the video of Joseph Smith, Prophet of the Restoration (that one that was in the visitors centers) and we are seeing it touch peoples lives and hearts for the better. This week is gonna be good. =)
We have 3 baptisms for this month minimum and I am way stoked about that. Its not all the time that we can baptize more than one a month here, or at least for me its not as common.
I have been getting along well with my new comp elder Vera. Hes from Texas/military so from a few places, but he is finishing this transfer to be able to go to school in the fall. I am enjoying being with another Elder who has a similar amount of time as me, and being able to relate and work in a similar form as him. We are gonna tear it up this week and Baptize Teresa. =)
Well gotta be heading out, tell Sarah to update the blog, cuz I got a few more questions on that subject about how things are going, they say that nothing new has come in since October... =P
